Representatives from Poland: Dr. Zbigniew J. Król, the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Roman Topór-Mądry, the President of the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariff System, Dominik Dziurda, the Director of the Healthcare Services Department at the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariff System, and Katarzyna Kędzior, the analyst from of the Healthcare Services Department at the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariff System paid an official visit to Lithuanian State Medicines Control Agency (SMCA) on May 17.
The purpose of the visit was to establish friendly inter-institutional relationship, to agree regarding cooperation possibilities in the future, also to familiarize how Lithuanian healthcare system functions, especially in the area of reimbursement of medicinal products, how the assessment of therapeutic value of medicinal products is conducted.
During the meeting a discussion about project “The Development and Implementation of Health Technology Assessment management system for medicines” which is currently conducted in the SMCA also took place. The experts of the Agency informed about activities of the project already implemented, what challenges are still being faced, what works are foreseen in the nearest future. Guests from Poland shared their accumulated experience in the area of assessment of medicinal products.
